Identity & Creative
During my master’s program, where I focused on international/intercultural communication, I developed a particular interest in social change communication and nation building, and I came to subscribe to the importance of participatory communication. Ask questions. Involve the stakeholder in processes that will affect her.
Sticker for Instructional Design & Technology Program
Instructional design and technology is a relatively new discipline, which creates a challenge for a communicator. How do you promote something when no one knows what it is?
I found the answer in the wonderful book, Made to Stick. Use a schema. In this case, it’s a superhero. Instructional designers solve problems. They are the superheroes. Hence, the design and messaging on this small sticker.
Spring Fling Visual Identity
In March 2020 I conceptualized and designed a Spring Fling event: A student engagement fair. Held outside, students visited available resources on campus and received a stamp for each representative they spoke to. I designed engagement “passports” (below) in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and carried the design across posters, event signage and social media.
Birth Announcement
This print piece was a fun project for a friend.
I scanned old nautical charts, and I hand painted watercolor sailboats. I brought all of the assets into Adobe InDesign to create the finished product.
We’re not sure if Fred will like sailing.
Sticker Concept for Construction Management Program
I created these laptop sticker concepts in Adobe Illustrator, using icons from the Noun Project (I hold a subscription, which allows me to use icons without attribution).
I had a lot of fun with the captions.
